32 Things I Know Now That I’m 32: #12 — Whine Doesn’t Age Well With Time.

32 Things I Know Now That I'm 32- #12 — Whine Doesn't Age Well With Time.

I’ve simply got no time for whining.

It’s everywhere these days — I mean, we’re all struggling. The world’s not an easy place to live in, constantly poking and prodding us to see just what we’re made of. The number of us living any kind of life that could be called “comfortable” is rapidly decreasing, leaving a general unease you can feel no matter where you are.

But it’s not the problems you have — it’s what you do about them.

32 Things I Know Now That I'm 32- #12 — Whine Doesn't Age Well With Time — Exasperated CaseyI know that if just spent my time whining about my problems, my life would look a lot different.

A few years back, I’d tell you the lifestyle I lead is equal parts hard work, good luck, and great perspective. Even before the #BloggerLife blew up to what it is today, I fully understood that even if I couldn’t reach where I wanted to go in the blink of an eye, every bit of hustle helped. If there was a party I wanted to hit, then I’d better show how good I was with social media so they’d want me there. Not enough hits on the blog? Then I’d better improve at writing to entice more readers! You won’t get anywhere in life by waiting for things to happen or expecting you’re owed a thing or two for your troubles — you have to create your opportunities, pushing every day to create the life you want to live.

That mindset’s precisely why I don’t understand when people let themselves get worked up by the smallest of things — 2-minute delays on the subway when someone presses the emergency assistance bar. How they’re putting more air and less snack in your favourite bag of potato chips. Or heaven forbid — they voted off your favourite person on your reality show of choice, completely ruining your day and keeping you in a foul mood!

Come on, people — problems aren’t there to debilitate us. They’re not meant to be insurmountable or hang like clouds over our heads, setting a doomed course for the rest of our lives — we’re meant to learn from them, using those negative experiences as reminders of things we don’t want to go through again, inspiring us to do everything in our power to make sure they never come back to bite us in the ass!

32 Things I Know Now That I'm 32- #12 — Whine Doesn't Age Well With Time. — No NoiseIt’s up to you. You can sit there and moan about the world being unfair and how hard things are in your day-to-day… or you can do something about them, gradually changing your circumstances until you’re in a world far better than the one you’re in today.

The world’s an awfully big place, and your solution’s out there somewhere. Don’t be a slave to your problems and let them keep you from a path to happiness — work at a better life for yourself a little every day, and you’d be surprised how soon you can look behind you, impressed at just how far you’ve come!

Go ahead — life the life you deserve.

Until the next,
