Alcatel onetouch Idol 3: Put Ya Phone Game on Fleek

A Case Cringle Christmas, Day 1

Last updated on April 2nd, 2021 at 01:37 am

Ahoy there, Internetland—you couldn’t seriously believe I’d let the Christmas season pass me by without putting out some sweet giveaways to celebrate the holidays, right? Though not as expansive—or admittedly, prepared—as the Techmas event at my buddy Zach’s site, I’ve partnered with a number of brands who have all sorts of things they’d love you to have to ring in the New Year!

The first gift good ol’ Case Cringle has for the good little girls and boys out in Internetland is the Alcatel onetouch Idol 3, a 5.5″ Android smartphone that can do just about everything other flagship phones can do, but at a fraction of the price!

But let’s get something straight from the drop—this phone is not impervious to gravity.

I first got my hands on the Idol 3 back in June when Citizen PR invited me to BMO Field so I could witness an announcement first-hand as Alcatel onetouch partnered with Toronto FC, and a Dwayne de Rosario Testimonial Match as icing on the cake!

It’s a cool little gadget—a far cry from the Idol 2S, their previous flagship phone which did little to impress me. But in a world where 64 GB is the new 32 and you can pack more into your phone than you can most computers, Alcatel onetouch unabashedly released a device to get themselves back in the game, and it is indeed sweet with all the options you’d expect from a premium phone in 2015!

“Live loud.
Live bright.
Live moments.
Live Idol 3.”

— a snippet from Alcatel onetouch’s advertising campaign for the Idol 3

The Idol 3 definitely helped make for a great summer… being out and about more than I’d expected, the Idol 3 performed superbly — especially across international lines where I swapped the SIM card for one from Roam Mobility to run amok across Cincinnati in August! And with another device already managing the heavy lifting for my #BloggerLife, I largely wanted a phone with expandable memory (because I really wasn’t about having hundreds of gigs in micro SD cards sitting around doing nothing); great sound—which it covers with its JBL sound engine; and a large display for those odd occasions where I need to play Thomas & Friends to keep the kiddo entertained in the back seat.

It was pretty much everything I could ask for in a modern device… until a fateful October morning where I fished it out of my pocket after dropping Little Man off at daycare, and it slipped from my hand to the sidewalk below, no longer working by the time I poked and prodded at it soon thereafter.

I learned an important lesson that day — protect your hardware; anything can happen, and you don’t want to lose out on a device worth hundreds because you couldn’t spring a few bucks to keep it safe!

So all’s well that ends well—I was finally able to replace Sarah’s well-aged Galaxy SIII with a phone able to keep up with the growing demands of a technology-reliant generation; I happily discovered that Citizen PR hadn’t blacklisted me for accidentally wrecking some of their client merch; and I was able to kick off a Case Cringle Christmas with something pretty cool for all my readers out there!

To all those who enter, good luck! To all those who read and shared the post, thank you so much. And for those of you who’ve yet to join the party… 2016 will be a big year—better get on this ride while you still can!

Have yourselves an amazing weekend, and try not to battle too many shopping cart warriors—only a week left ’til Christmas!

Until the next,

This would be wonderful for my Dad. His is old and keeps cutting out, not sure if it’s the phone or reception…but for safety reasons, I’d pay it forward and give him the greatest Christmas present ever! 🙂

My current phone is showing signs that it needs to be updated. I miss calls at times because I cannot hear the speaker though I have the volume on full. I restart the device to get it back to work.

A modern phone would drastically change my life and my home business!!!!! The amazing new features would help me connect with clients and keep track of my busy daily life with ease!!!!!

Then, Craig, I think you’ll enjoy what I have to offer here! I’m still figuring out a lot as I intersect fatherhood, tech and so many other parts of my life, but there’s generally always something new and interesting going on long as I have the energy to keep up with everything!

Stay tuned!

Considering my current phone decides when it feels like letting a call go through or not, it would be nice to have a phone that works properly!

My current cell is an old dinosaur flip phone!!! Winning the Alcatel onetouch Idol 3 smartphone would bring me into the 21st century!

Wold love this for my husband because his phone is so old and can’t afford to get a new one, so expensive, great present, at least he can answer my phone or receivè text on time.

A modern smartphone would help me stay connected in style. I haven’t had a new phone in a long time, so it would also help me with apps I wasn’t able to use before because of being unable to update such an old phone. Thanks for the chance to win. Happy holidays.

It would change my dad’s life. He’s still not in the world of Smartphones yet. This phone would connect him to all his friends and family without long distance calling!

The Alcatel Idol 3 would not change my life but the life of my daughter who is turning 12 and has been hinting about getting her own smartphone for a while now. This would make an amazing Christmas gift for her

A modern phone would be great for my husband & his work. It would keep him connected when he’s on the go, which is often.

Gosh how i need a new MODERN phone! my phone is 3 years old which isn’t to bad, but from years of beatings for my now toddler, the volume doesn’t work so can’t hear when i get a text or call, hard to hear anyone I am talking to on the phone and my camera quality is horrible!!

So I wont be a worry wort

It would help me keep in touch with my friends and family at all times!! It would be a huge change for me!! 🙂

A modern smartphone would make 2016 so much pleasanter and easier for me too. I have 7 children and 7 (soon to be 8) grandchildren scattered across 3 continents so keeping in touch, watching videos, seeing photos, leaving voice messages are all very important to me and could be accomplished with ease with a modern smartphone. Thanks for the chance to win 🙂

I don’t own a cellphone. Owing a modern one would keep me in touch on the go and I will be able to take a lot of pictures.

It would be great to win
this Alcatel onetouch Idol 3 5.5″ smartphone.
In response to your question of
How would a modern smartphone change your life in 2016?
Having a modern smartphone would allow me to communicate
with my family and friends when i am away
from my house phone.
Thank you for having this giveaway.

A modern smartphone would change my life in 2016 because i have never owned a phone, there have been more important things to spend money on when you live on a disability.

I get tired of people thinking I have a cell phone, telling me to scan something here, download an app there. I don’t have one and think I may be missing out on some things. Thank you for the giveaway.

I can do very little other than to make calls on my old windows phone, everything is geared for android or iOS and I would love to be able to have access to so many great apps!

I have an old cell phone so it would change having to press the numbers two and three times to get letters to text! 🙁 Thanks!

having a new modern cell phone that works as opposed to the current none working one we have would be awesome and make life so easy –my kids could actually text us

i would love to have a new Alcatel onetouch-idol-3 it would make my life much easier with the kids , i could text the kids and keep in touch with family , and better yet keep in touch with my mom when i am out as she worries if she can’t get a hold of me at home , thanks for the chance 🙂

The Alcatel onetouch Idol 3 would come in handy for all the travel time in the new year. Having a phone with a big screen would be great entertainment for my son on our long car rides. Since Treehouse has overtaken my home it only seems fitting that it should rule my vehicle as well. Thank you ol’ Case Cringle and Happy Holidays!

a new smart phone would upgrade me to modern status. I have an old phone.. i could keep up with everything on the go!

my husband has had the same iphone for about 5 years. He can’t talk on it because no one can hear him lol. I’m sure he would love this phone

would change my life as I am chained to a desk top PC it would allow me to be mobile, text and use all kinds of apps to save me money when shopping

i wouldn’t have to bring my digi camera with me for one. i don’t need a gaming system since i can play games on my phone. i don’t need an alarm since my phone has one already. the phone can even track my health, via steps or heart rate. there’s endless possibilities with our phones. we can even control the tv!

a modern would would change my life because I have an old phone. The battery dies quickly and the screen doesn’t work most times. I could really use an updated phone so I don’t miss calls and texts like I do now.

It would likely change a lot of things in my life. I would save money with apps, be able to check bus schedules in real time, and even use my downtime to get things done. My current phone is only calls or text, and even then, it’s starting to die.

It would help me take photos of higher quality and allow me to share them and connect instantly with friends and family.

I’m starting to come around to the usefulness of texting, and various apps on Smartphones. I’m more of a only-want-to-talk-to let-you-know-I’ll-be-late kinda gal. I don’t like the idea of being ALWAYS available, but I can turn it off, right? :0
