GIVEAWAY POST: Johnson’s So Much More—or—How I Learned to Stop Slacking and Love Bath Time

I’ve never been a huge fan of bath time, but I’m warming up to it!

In Casa de Palmer, when dinner’s done you have a choice—you either wash the dishes or give the baby a bath. Perhaps in search of what alone time I can find, I often choose dishes, unwinding after the work day and all its stressed.

But that’s stupid—I’m making the wrong choice every time, and deep inside, I know it.

Our little guy will only stay that way for so long. He’s rapidly growing—I blinked and he was suddenly tall enough to peer over the kitchen table and see what we’re eating, or strong enough to open and close his toy chest on his own. The days I could sit in the nursery and just nestle him in my arms are long gone, and while I still dedicate much of my time being with him, I already see him as more of a boy than a baby, making his personality and opinions resoundingly clear in our lives, even though he doesn’t yet have the words for all he’s experiencing.

JOHNSON'S—So Much More—The Power of Bath Time
JOHNSON’S—So Much More—The Power of Bath Time; a report that taught me a TON about the benefits of bath time!

So yes—I’d be a fool not to spend as much time with him as possible while he’ll still let me… but for reasons you might not even expect. Did you know that splashing helps teach babies cause and effect, or that they can develop hand-eye coordination from playing with bubbles? As part of their So Much More campaign, Johnson’s helped show that my selfish desire to avoid bath time was doing my bond with my son more harm than help, and it was time to take a look at myself and my actions if I’m serious about investing in my family’s future!

But much like flight attendants tell you to take care of yourself in case of emergency so you’re able to care for your child, it’s far more difficult to care for your child properly if you’re run down and exhausted!

To this end, Johnson’s wants to help pamper you so you can feel your best when you need to do your best at this parenting gig, and one lucky winner will win a Johnson’s  Bath Time Bundle, including Johnson’s bath time products for the baby, like shampoo, body wash and lotion, and a bath robe to help the proud parent relax after putting their freshly-washed baby to bed! Nothing more than a valid email address and mouse click is required to enter, but you can always get extra entries through various activities detailed below if you want to improve your odds!

Good habits aren’t formed overnight—it’ll take several more trips to the tub before it’s part of my regular routine, but building the lifelong bond I want with my son won’t come from shirking my duties!

There’s much I’ve yet to learn, but I take these baby steps—pardon the pun—with the hope for the kind of relationship with my son that took me far too long to establish with my Dad.

Good luck to all who enter, and remember—life is full of little things we can do to make a change; let’s not undersell the impacts our actions have on the ones we love most!

Adios amigos,

Disclaimer: I was compensated for this post with a Baby Bath Time Bundle of my own, but I really do need to give my son more baths. What if he wakes up one day years from now resenting me because I didn’t spend enough time bonding?!

You can find out more information about Johnson’s and their So Much More campaign on their website, Facebook, Youtube or Instagram!

And of course, you know where to find me—on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram!

Good luck to all who enter!

Its the relaxation time I love. I am so relaxed with my baby girl and she absolutely loves the water so she is always smiling and giggling. such a happy time

I feel like bath time is one of those things that is easy to take for granted; unless you’re the one having the bath or shower no one really likes to get wet… but it’s also one of those activities that is so easy to cherish. Good on ya, Casey 🙂

Our daughter had her baby boy just 8 days ago and we love bath time with him. Luckily he enjoys the warm water and he doesn’t cry at all which is very enjoyable for all!

Bath time is awesome in my house because both of my boys bathe together and just watching them play together in the tub makes me laugh.

Bath time is the best ! Its just a time for peace and bonding 🙂 without all the distractions.

Our giggles, the bubbles and our bonding!! Also relaxes my son and he falls asleep faster 🙂

This is a very familiar situation for me and your post (for a quick second) brought tears to my eyes! We welcomed our very first long awaited son in November. I see everyday how much he grows and changes and it’s absolutely amazing! One of the best times of my day is bath time with our little guy. I haven’t used bubbles before but will give them a try to see how he does. I’m all for giving my son everything and anything that may help him develop. It’s during these special bonding moments my Husband is M.I.A. Well to his credit he isn’t actually missing but he is cleaning up the dishes, boiling the nipples and making us a coffee. He’s an amazing provider who shows his love through action rather than words and I suppose his thinking is he’s taking care of the messy work so Mama can relax with baby but I do wish he’d take a bigger part in bath time. I wonder now if while standing at the sink he has the same inner thoughts as you. If he’d rather be with us but thinks the job must get done. Tonight I will make a effort to include him in bath time. I will tell him how much he’s needed and wanted. Tonight I will let him pour the bubbles! So happy to have come across this! Cheers to you and yours, your little boy is so yummy!

Bath time is so special as baby has so much fun
in the water. Also, they smell so nice after.

I love how much fun my daughter has in the water. She loves playing with they toys and the smiles.

It would be great to win this Johnson’s Bath Time Bundle.
In response to your question of
What’s special to you about bath time with your baby?
Knowing that i am keeping my child clean
and the giggles when they splash in the water.
Thank you for having this giveaway!!!!!!!!!!!

I love bathtime with my children bc it always us to play, relax and get cleaned up. Both my children absolutely LOVE water so bathtime and shower time is always (so far, knocks on wood) easy. 🙂

i don’t have a child but i would like to get this for my sister she’s adopting a little one!

Bath time with my baby has evolved over time. It used to be such a great bonding experience as we would bathe together. Now that he’s older, it’s so much fun watching him play with his brother in the tub!

My little guy gets very excited in the bath so it’s not very relaxing but it is pretty fun:)

I love the time I spend with my twinsdurig their bathtime. We have water games for them but mostly it’s simply spendig time and being able to talk to them.
