Hey everyone! Hope you’ve been enjoying all the content that my friends and peers have been putting forward in my absence. Though, as I explained before, not having quite hit quota for what I needed prior to my temporary vanishing act, the weekends are still the realm for 100% Casey Palmer Content!

So. You might be wondering what marketing has to do with anything about life improvement. There’s the more obvious answers—marketing who you are to improve awareness, or perhaps being able to use marketing principles and techniques to convince someone about something you hold value in.

Those might be topics for later posts, but for today, I’ll share with you what I’ve learned so far.

To get people to believe in what you do and the content you provide, you need to give something that’s of value to them in return. But how do you know what’s of value to your audience? Simple. You ask questions. You read the materials, watch the media—absorb the lifestyle that pertains to your audience so that you may better respond to their needs.

But, as I’ve also stated before, my goal of blogging about life improvement has been too broad to really figure out who or what my audience IS.

So I’ve been thinking on this in my free time—on planes, on trains, even on boats! What are the problems that I’m really trying to solve? What problems do I encounter that others are probably facing around me? I’ve come up with a short list:

  • how to be the best man one can be in this day and age
  • how to get the most out of Toronto, since most Torontonians seem to be bored and disenfranchised with Toronto
  • how to make the money to do the things we want to in life
  • how to make life easier for ourselves
  • how to have more free time
  • how to clear out all the clutter in our lives

I’m sure that there’re others, but these are just ones that I know would have a genuinely positive impact on many of my readers.

But not all of these do a blog post make.

My vision’s extended a bit past the idea of a blog. Perhaps some of the material would be best presented as an ebook. Some as an interactive map. Maybe others could be step-by-step guides and checklists.

What I have learned definitively is this: a blog is a tool that can be used to solve problems, but it is by no means the only tool.

So with half a year left, while there’s still much to discuss and many things to do to get out there and help others, I promise you this:

It’s time for the game to change.
