Playing With Myself (in a G-Rated Way!)

There’s a game I play every time I come back to Mississauga. It doesn’t really have a name, but the goal is always the same. It’s really simple. Here’re the rules:

You either WIN or you LOSE

A lot like life, isn’t it? The point of the game is to get rid of as much crap as I can overnight. The more I can get rid of means the more I win! Pretty simple game. Back when I started the Quest for Less, I found it problematic to try and sort through all the stuff I had lying around and turning it into something useful. But then when certain friends started goading me to just get rid of it all, something resonated within me. I remembered the advent of all the technology available to me and realized something—all of this pre-work was useless! I could just sort it all out on the computer later to my every whim!

So with revelation and new purpose in hand, I started scanning once more like a man possessed. Tonight’s focus will be on articles that can improve my life—dressing better, cooking better… just BEING better in general 😊 Maybe it’ll be the dawn of a new age of Casey—you never know!

Sometimes you’ve got to change the conditions of a chore to make it anywhere near enjoyable. I vacuum to my most played list on my iPod. I iron with a DVD playing in front of me (while still paying careful attention to what I’m doing!!!). There’s a lot of “must-dos” in life that at their surface just suck, but with a little effort, you can find a way to do them and pass the time without really noticing!

So other than my Top 1000 playlist, what exactly is it that’s compelling me to get all this stuff scanned in?

Well. I’ll keep that between me, myself and I for the time being 😊

Have a great day, everyone!
