What good is something if you keep it to yourself?

We worry about how people will see us and the things we do—will they critique my drawing? Will they make fun of the way I dress? Will I fit in?

But all these insecurities will drive you CRAZY. It’s better to just try to do things when they come to mind and work at them until they’re where you need them to be.

And that’s what I’m going to do with some t-shirt designs I’ve had in my head for far too long. I’ve been reading Jake Nickell’s Threadless, about the famous t-shirt company of the same name, and I think that it’s high time that they have a chance to change from ideas to reality.

We worry about showing things that’re incomplete—that they won’t display the fullness of what we’re trying to accomplish. But we’ve got it all wrong—showing our work in progress lets people know that we’re trying to get something done. That we have a vision in mind and we’re actually working on it, and that we’re not just all talk.

So why not give it a whirl? You may find some unexpected benefits! While those closest to us love us and only wish for us to succeed, they might not do the things we do. They, although meaning well, may not have the ideas, actions and words that we need in order to excel to our potential.

There are 7-odd billion people out there. Why not start reaching out to them to give yourself a better chance of getting your ideas done the right way?
