SodaStream | Having #BubblesMyWay at My Son’s Baby Dedication!

Last updated on November 4th, 2020 at 09:50 pm

What’s up, world?!

I know, I know it’s been a bit, but when you’re balancing three competing yet utterly important parts of your life, they don’t always play well together!

But while I’m weeks behind for my monthly wrap-up, there’re tales to be told before I get there, starting with a celebration for my (not-so-) little guy and how we quench the thirst of dozens with as little fuss and muss as possible!

Baby Dedications: Because Little Guys Don’t Stay Little FOREVER

Do you know who had his baby dedication this past weekend?

This guy.

The Little One's Dedication—A Happy Little Guy

It’s kind of ironic that Baptist Christians do baby dedications instead of child baptisms, but with a Dad who slipped and splashed into the baptismal tank back when he did his in ’09, I’ll take what I can get.

Part of the entire baby dedication was preparing a luncheon following the service to thank all our guests for coming—normally, when you get the family together, you get bottled and canned drinks in every colour of the rainbow to slake their thirsts.  You spend dozens of dollars getting bubbles down their gullets, hoping you bought enough to last the night so you don’t need to make another run. And though you’re environmentally-conscious enough to recycle, wouldn’t it be so much better if we could avoid the waste by-products in the first place?

So when we hosted our families at church after the dedication, I decided to try something different, bringing my SodaStream Source with a bevvy of flavour syrup to keep all the taste without the waste!

Though too busy entertaining guests and sneaking nibbles of chili and corned beef sandwiches to get many photos or sound bites from family members, I can tell you that everyone loved it, asking Sarah where she bought it so they could get some for later! No one could believe it was the simple combination of SodaStream, tap water and flavour syrups!

SodaStream: A Solution to Make Your Life Simpler, Sleeker and EASIER.

The Little One's Dedication—The Palmer Family
The Palmer Family in full effect at the little guy’s baby dedication!

Son dedicated with all our family coming together despite the Yonge Run making it near impossible to get in or out of the city’s south end? Check. SodaStream proving popular with our guests as a healthier alternative to other canned and bottled beverages we could’ve served them instead? Check. Less fuss, less muss, less clean-up? Check!

So if you have a gargantuan thirst to quench and you want to stretch your dollars for the long run, consider the SodaStream, a way to get great flavour, save on waste, and make a drink that can truly handle however you enjoy getting your sparkling drink on!

Get your bubble on,

I’ve been trying to convince my husband for years that a Sodastream is a need-to-have not just a nice-to-have. Would love to win this!

Congrats to you and your family on the baby dedication Casey. It is truly a special day! On a Soda Stream note, my parents have one and love it.

Thanks, man 🙂 It really was a great day, and the support we received from friends and family was astounding!

The SodaStream’s super-convenient 🙂 Sarah tried the fruit punch without any carbonation and still loved it. I can see many experiments coming from this!

Congratulations on your cutie’s dedication! (I’ve never heard of that before, so that’s interesting. I like that it’s called a dedication.) And also congrats on writing another blog post! 😛

That SodaStream does sound cool! Have you tried just making plain fizzy water? (LOL, are you surprised that I asked this?) Can you make Cherry Coke?!

Yeah, back when I did it, I was christened. We’ve rocked the baptisms. This is just how we roll with it at my church 🙂

It feels good to be writing again — it’s like we’ve discussed before; I don’t want to just post anything; even when it’s a sponsored post, I want my storytelling and personality to be a part of it. So it takes time 🙂

The fizzy water actually tastes pretty good — I tried it at a party once, and was surprised at how good it tasted 🙂

Cherry Cola is indeed one of the flavours! http://www.sodastream.ca/shop/product_info.php?products_id=172

…I just can’t guarantee it’d taste like any specific brand you’ve tried before.

zomg those cheeks!!!!
I mean…I wanna win a Sodastream! 😉

Congrats on the weekend you guys! *noms on cheeks a little more*

LOL. PRIORITIES, Adrienne! But yes, everyone who ever meets him or sees a photo of him is all about the cheeks. It boggles my mind, but I suppose there’s some logic behind this somewhere 🙂

Good luck on the contest 😉 And thanks — I’m glad the weekend went as well as it did 🙂

Casey, you have a beautiful family! Hooray for your little one on his baby dedication day! Umm…Wish I were at the party! The food looks delish! Oh, what a great selection of bevvies too! Gotta love SodaStream! Pssst! Love your tweets! You’re a great ambassador!

I want to eliminate pop from my diet and have been thinking about soda stream as the way to do it. Had carbonated soda stream water at a party once and couldn’t stop drinking it.

It’s ridiculously delicious, right?! This is a good way to stop buying cans of club soda at the store — and the fact that you get 60L out of every carbonation tube, and you can bring empties into stores like Kitchen Stuff Plus to get a discount on a new one… there’s a lot of wins with this 🙂

Good luck!

casey and sarah: your bebe is looking more adorable by the day! what an awesome idea to use the soda stream at his luncheon.

my friends who have a soda stream swear they use theirs a couple of times a day! my latest kitchen thing was my tassimo but i’m not even using it now…but i can see using the soda stream everyday. even for just bubble water!

crossing my fingers and toes for a win here.

Good luck with the contest, Judy 🙂 I use it more often than I might have originally imagined — the extra bottles they gave me make it mighty convenient for a grab-n-go drink, which saves me from running to the convenience store for something to wash my lunch down!

And this kid is ridiculously photogenic. I don’t know what I’m going to do with him 😐 He’s gonna be trouble!

It’s a good thing the SodaStream worked out, though — our SUV’s trunk was getting pretty packed!!!

I love pop but trying to cut down so I mix natural fruit juices into my clear sodas to balance out the good and the bad haha.

Sodastream would be a life saver.

I need to win one of these ASAP. I eye it every time in the store, and just can’t justify buying one. Yet. 😛

LOL. Isn’t it great when all of a sudden you can stop having that internal battle and have everything work out in your favour?

Good luck, sir 🙂 It’s a beauty of a machine!

It was a great day! And not a problem — there’s so many ways one could take the SodaStream story, it was great to see other examples from my fellow Brand Ambassadors 🙂

My husband does not want us to get yet “another machine” that he says we will not use. But we love carbonated water and I think we would love it. Hope to win this and win him over:-)

While I don’t know your husband and cannot guarantee that he will love this, I’m about 98.3% sure that you’ll love using the SodaStream if you get it!

Good luck 😀

Trying to make healthier meals and keep my boyfriend and I off the couch – lots of greens, quinoa, salads and lean meats! Walking his mom’s dog doesn’t hurt either — maybe less beer too! 😉

Ali,

You guys sound like you’re doing it right 😀 This would be a welcome addition to your home — I hear you’ve set up a nice little bar to put it on 😉

Good luck!

Interesting…

I’ve had a few friends talking a lot about these lately. I’ve been pondering it. Just haven’t been able to convince myself to take the plunge.

I’ve found the SodaStream convenient for drinks to take in to work. I’m currently offsite from my regular office to help develop a system, and the place is so isolated that buying a drink is often $2.50-$3.00.

That really adds up!

Bringing in a litre of flavoured drink helps save on that, and lasts a lot longer through the day.

Game. Set. Match.

Good luck in the contest!

For us, it’s all about teamwork and mutual support. If you know people have your back (or will call you on making bad choices) you can motivate yourself to choose a bit better.

Coming from the guy who just ate some Pringles for breakfast (to the horror of some friends at church), that’s definitely a good thing!

(They were left over from yesterday’s lunch! STOP JUDGING ME!!! :P)

Congrats on the beautiful baby and dedication Casey! Mixed babies unite 😉

I’ve wanted a Soda Stream forever but never took the plunge… would love to get one!

My partner and I try to shop at the local farmers markets in our area to get our produce, which cuts down a lot when it come to transportation and packaging of produce. We also actively use our composter so any raw materials that go bad before we can eat them are composted instead 🙂
