Apple | iOS 11 & Carpool Karaoke

Last updated on April 22nd, 2021 at 02:23 am

It may surprise you, but Apple does so much more than just put out cool tech. Yes, the first thing you think of when you hear “Apple” might be “iPhone”, but that’s not where their story stops. Between interactive in-store experiences, seamless mash-ups with other brands, and continually pushing the boundaries of what they can do with the many properties they own, there’s plenty you can explore from the gang who made black turtlenecks cool again!

Carpool Karaoke: The Series: Apple Comes out Swinging with Some Musical Fun on Apple Music!

Let’s start with Carpool Karaoke: The Series!

Did you know Apple has their own shows on Apple Music? I didn’t!

WEST HOLLYWOOD, CA—AUGUST 07: Former NBA player Shaquille O’Neal (L) and Carpool Karaoke Series Executive Producer James Corden at Apple Music Launch Party Carpool Karaoke: The Series with James Corden on August 7, 2017, in West Hollywood, California. But Carpool Karaoke: The Series is the brainchild of James Corden and Ben Winston—the gents who first brought Carpool Karaoke to life on The Late Late Show with James Corden—and Eric Pankowski, CBS’ former Senior Vice President of Programming and Development. It pairs musicians with celebrities who’d usually find themselves talented otherwise, challenging them with karaoke adventures that involve all sorts of antics! With big names like Alicia Keys, Shaquille O’Neal and Maisie Williams, you get a very different experience each episode!

Check it out on Apple Music!

NELSON Disney Learning Educational Books

Last updated on March 31st, 2021 at 08:59 pm

For any of you who still can’t believe I’m a Dad, allow me to remind you that I have a kid starting kindergarten this September.

Yes, kindergarten.

As we get closer to life with a school kid, I’ve observed what other parents are doing to ready their kids for it. Chalkboards with roughly scrawled names on them. Toys arranged on the table teaching simple arithmetic. With all these parents working hard to drum foundational skills into their kids, into their kids, I couldn’t help but feel a little… behind.

Which is why when NELSON, Canada’s leading educational publisher reached out for the Palmer fam to try their new Disney Learning book series, I immediately brought them into our lives!

Star Wars | I Am Your Father’s Day

“Your father? I am your father.”

Darth Vader’s classic line from The Empire Strikes Back has been quoted, misquoted, and referenced every which way since its first utterance in 1980.

But you’ve never seen a take on it quite like this—taking a fatherhood reveal that makes Maury Povich’s look like Page 6 news and turning it into something more… symbolic.

Any Dad who was still young enough to know how to have fun in the ’70s and ’80s grew up knowing how awesome Star Wars is. We used broomsticks as toy lightsabers. We treated the Force as a power we expected to wield in play—not something of imagination alone. And now that we’re Dads ourselves, it’s our turn to pass something down to our kids from our childhoods… and that’s why the folks at Disney and Star Wars want to wish you a Happy “I Am Your Father”‘s Day!
