Team Thomas Movember | Mo’ Blogging, Mo’ Problems

Being sick for most of November’s been a royal pain, keeping me from doing everything that was on my list for the month. My stack of blog drafts’ as thick as ever; house doors still squeak in dire need of some WD-40; emails sit unanswered in my Gmail inbox, and I couldn’t tackle Movember with the gusto I would were I at 100%.

It wasn’t for lack of ‘stache — my facial hair’s grown in nicely (much to my wife’s chagrin), and I’ve taken photos along the way to prove it. But it’s fitting that one of Movember’s foci are on mental health because I started feeling a real sense of burnout as I started closing 2015 off?

Subway Canada | Another Shot at Carl’s Crew — Getting My Life in Gear!

If you’ve followed the blog a while, you’ll probably remember Carl’s Crew with Subway Canada, an initiative I ran with last spring that saw me utterly fail at making changes to improve my life, focusing on nutrition, fitness and changing my paradigm to make more time for things that really matter. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to do it — I’m just perpetually hopeless at making my health a priority, something I should really consider changing with a son who’ll probably want me around for many years yet, and his little brother who I hope will want the same.

However — though I’d never shortlist for fittest blogger of the year, I’m not shy to recognize my issues for what they are, and Subway Canada’s been generous enough to offer a second chance at introducing some much-needed positive change in my life!

But this time it’ll be a little different.

GIVEAWAY POST: #ThanksBaby — How Pampers Highlights the Finer Side of Fatherhood

In my world, June’s all about the Dads. Unlike Canadian Moms, unfortunate enough to celebrate Mother’s Day under the shadow of May 24’s looming promise (aka the first Canadian long weekend that isn’t cold, wet, or having anything else fall from the sky), June’s sorely lacking in anything distracting us from celebrating our fathers. And that’s a good thing too, because the very notion of fatherhood is changing — or should I say evolving — as we continue our way through the 21st century.

And it’s high time we recognize that!

I’M NOT DEAD, I’M JUST A DAD: Having Some #BubblesMyWay at My Son’s Baby Dedication!

What’s up, world?!

I know, I know it’s been a bit, but when you’re balancing three competing yet utterly important parts of your life, they don’t always play well together!

But while I’m weeks behind for my monthly wrap-up, there’re tales to be told before I get there, starting with a celebration for my (not-so-) little guy and how we quenches the thirst of dozens with as little fuss and muss as possible!

Baby Dedications: Because Little Guys Don’t Stay Little FOREVER

You know who had his baby dedication this past weekend?

This guy.

It’s kind of ironic that Baptist Christians do baby dedications instead of child baptisms, but with a Dad who slipped and splashed into the baptismal tank back when he did his in ’09, I’ll take what I can get.
