WooTO, HoHoTO and Electric Xmas 2

Last updated on March 20th, 2021 at 12:13 pm

Tweetup. Definition: An event where people come together to meet and have fun, often knowing nothing about each other save the fact that all attendees are Twitter users. This December had three of them that were all fun for their own reasons:

  • WooTO: December 14th;
  • HoHoTO: December 16th;
  • Electric Christmas 2: December 20th.

Christmas is always a busy season: buying gifts, going to parties, planning out where you need to be—this year was exceptionally busy as I started to get my tweet on. There’s so much going on in the T-Dot that I never knew about before I started hitting up tweetups and getting better in touch with my digital side. Been a great couple of months 😊

Let me tell you what you missed if you didn’t get a chance to drop in!

Merry Christmas! Now what’s next?

Hey, y’all—so a quick video update about what’s up with moi and my blogs before sleeping for Christmas Day. You might be wondering why I’m wearing a toque indoors. Actually, you probably don’t even care, but let me tell you. When I was younger, I tried to open my window in the winter to get the snow off of it, not realizing that the window was locked. Broke the window mechanism—it’ll open now only if I push it out a little first—but I’ve also noticed that as the years pass, my room is more and more affected by the elements outdoors—more so than any other room in the house. I’ve probably cost my parents a fortune in energy bills. Oy.

Anyway, check the message and have a great Christmas. More bloggage coming soon! Probably after I wake up. And eat breakfast. And open presents. And call my Grandma long-distance, since she’s in Jamaica. Yes. This is how I roll.

A Set of Unrelated Loosely Interesting Thoughts

Last updated on September 9th, 2014 at 10:43 pm

Hey guys!
Much of yesterday was spent running errands and attending #WooTO, so coming up with a blog post wasn’t on the forefront of my mind. Instead, today we get a few random thoughts:
ONE: If I were to chart out the progress made for the 2010 20K, it would be a sum total of three bar charts—money earned, money saved, money lost due to refunds. Now let us note that the refunds aren’t due to bad service or inferior product… but simply friends who are impulse shoppers. Friends that read this blog. Yes, I’m calling you out 😊 Still love ya, though, so worry not.

TWO: We need more Peter Silvermans. One would think that with the amount of information that’s available on the Internet these days that we would no longer need a source like Silverman Helps, but I think it’s much the opposite. With informed consumers, I think it helps everyone, because theoretically, only the businesses with good practices would stay afloat. (One would hope.)

THREE: Torontoist’s I Want Your Job is pretty awesome (thanks to R.T. for alerting me to it on my Google Reader!); it’s always interesting to see what jobs people are really passionate about and how they got there—for one day, I’ll likely try to take it from them 😊 (Or something.)
Hopefully some updates from the more creative side of life for the rest of the week—let me know if there’s anything in particular you want to see!
