So I never expected to travel to Tanzania, climb Mount Kilimanjaro, spend a week on safari and explore Zanzibar for a month away from work that changed my life forever.
The Road to The Tanzania Chronicles: One I Never Expected to Travel!
In late 2011, freshly married without much holding us back, Sarah decided on a whim that we should join our globetrotting friends and climb Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro. As someone whose travel goals revolved more around cities than losing myself on the roads seldom travelled, it wasn’t something I ever planned to do, but I suddenly found myself taking long walks around Toronto to get ready.
I first wrote The Tanzania Chronicles when I returned from the trip, taking the leather-bound travel notebook that didn’t leave my side the entire trip and writing out my story one post at a time, but my writing style’s changed in the ten years since, and with my renewed drive to amplify my storytelling game, I wanted to finish telling my Tanzanian tale the way I knew I could tell it.
