I'm quickly learning that Darren Rowse and Chris Garrett's PROBLOGGER
is a blogging manifesto in the guise of a book on how to create a blog to make money. With a ton of topics and questions on whether the stuff you're blogging will actually interest anyone (which just MIGHT be of some importance if you're looking to make money from your blog), it really gets the wheels on the head turning. If you're wondering why your blog just isn't where you want it to be, I recommend this as a good tool. From looking at a number of the questions in the book, I can tell you right now – this blog is lacking in the focus department. Hell, I haven't even updated the domain name yet. Yeah, it's lacking focus.
It's not for a lack of content – I have a ton of content I put together all the time – comics, infographic ideas, lyrics – I'm just not ready to share it. Heh – maybe if I spent less time reading, I'd spend more time wrapping it up to show the Web, but with me, that's not a guarantee!
Hm. I wonder if it's a blog about who I want to be as a person and the journey I'm going to take to get there.
That doesn't sound half-bad!
Maybe I'll focus each day on one thing I'm going to improve myself and others can try to follow suit if they feel they need to do it as well. We can all comment on it and improve… through SYNERGY!
A man can dream, right? But I'm liking the sounds of this idea. Feel free to let me know if you think it's epic (or just an epic FAILURE in the making)!
Today's improvement: working on turning ideas into a reality! I've been reading up on 2011 trends, business law and web design all day! Hopefully you'll see the fruits of my labours soon!
