One of the things I continue returning to each time my creative tank feels empty is The Art Of’s speaker series, sessions geared to help you hone your skills in various specialty areas, including sales, leadership and small business.
With life being as hectic as it’s been lately, I had to step away from the #BloggerLife for days — but days can become weeks, weeks become months, and months become years if you let them.
This unexpected hiatus was courtesy of many a reason — trips up to North Bay for some face time with our clients; Sarah’s birthday, Mother’s Day and our wedding anniversary to plan for; a son who makes a scene every time I break the pen and paper out because he wants to scribble, too — blogging simply ain’t as easy as it was before.
So, good thing another session’s right around the corner with The Art of Marketing at Toronto’s Metro Toronto Convention Centre on May 25th!
The Art of Marketing —
I’ve seen a lot at The Art Of’s previous sessions — both energetic and reserved speakers; topics that resonated with me and others falling flat… I’ve taken something from each one and added it to my brand, giving me clarity on delivering a consistent message I can proudly stand behind every time I create.
This session’s no different — featuring heavy-hitters like Dr. Robert Cialdini of Influence fame and Gene Simmons of KISS notoriety, it’s designed to give you the insights you need from experts in five diverse disciplines to help you pump your effort up in whatever you do.

After as many times as I’ve gone and all I’ve gained these past years, The Art Of’s series keep me wanting more, looking to grow beyond blogging into further opportunities that’ll continually challenge myself and everything I’m about. With all those hours spent at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, I can definitely tell you one thing…
…one day I’ll be on that stage, sharing my stories and experiences about my #BloggerLife, showing others how to create a brand that’s authentic and relatable, giving people food for their souls while giving clients exactly what they’re looking for.
Blogging’s just the beginning — it’s up to you how far you want your journey to go!
The Road to Fulfillment is Steeped in Self-Improvement
Life get hard, you ease your soul
It cleanse ya mind, learn to fly
Then reach the stars, you take the time
To look behind and say, “Look where I came.
Look how far I done came.”
— J. Cole, “Intro”, 2014 Forest Hills Drive (2014)
I can’t force you to go to The Art of Marketing — all I can do is tell you why I find it valuable, hoping that people seeking this kind of inspiration in their lives will partake of what the speakers have to offer.
But if it’s the right fit for you, you’re in luck — with the CONNECT26 promo code, you can save $50 off of your ticket; or save $100 if you’re buying 3 or more! It’s said only suckers pay full price, so if we’ll see you in the crowd, make sure to bring interested colleagues and friends with you to keep some of those hard-earned dollars in your pocket!
It’s years in, and I’m still not tired of The Art of Marketing. With an audience so diverse, I don’t always get as much new information that I did a few years back, but knowledge and inspiration can strike you from the most unexpected places, so we’ve gotta keep learning!
Don’t do yourself a disservice — it’s always important to work at your skills, constantly polishing your brand up to put your best self forward. If you want to grow and reach your goals, what’s stopping you? Any answer other than yourself is just an excuse. There’s no time like today to do what’s required to take that step forward, eventually looking behind you, amazed at how far you’ve come!
But you won’t get anywhere if you sit around doing nothing.
I hope to see you at The Art of Marketing — if you do see me there, come over and say “hi”… you never know; maybe we’ll have something in common that’ll set us both ahead!
May you get your learn on and be so inspired to do something amazing,
